  • Fraikin operates in 10 European countries with a fleet of more than 50,000 vehicles and generates around €1 billion in revenue
  • Asterion will support Fraikin’s next phase of growth, focusing on continued investment in its fleet and European operating platform, helping customers transition to lower-carbon mobility, and digitalising its fleet management offering

Madrid, 12 October 2026 — Asterion Industrial Partners, an independent investment management firm focused on mid-market infrastructure in Europe, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with affiliates of Fraikin’s ultimate majority shareholders, Benefit Street Partners, Värde Partners and Canyon Partners, relating to the contemplated acquisition of the company, a leading pan-European provider of commercial vehicle leasing and fleet management services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to applicable regulatory approvals and the completion of the relevant works council information and consultation process.

The acquisition strengthens Asterion’s presence in mobility asset leasing through a scaled platform with longstanding customer relationships, an integrated service model and an essential role in European commercial mobility.

Founded in France in 1944, Fraikin operates in 10 European countries and manages a fleet of more than 50,000 commercial vehicles. It provides long-term contract hire, short- and medium-term rental, maintenance and fleet management services through a network of facilities across Europe. Its customers include transport, logistics, utilities and public-sector organisations.

The transaction follows several years of transformation at Fraikin, during which the company has improved its financial performance and consolidated its position in European markets. Fraikin currently generates close to €1 billion in revenue and has a fleet with a gross book value of approximately €3 billion.

Following completion, Asterion intends to support Fraikin’s development across its core markets by investing in its fleet, European operating platform, maintenance and repair network, people and digital capabilities, including the digitalization of its fleet management offering. In line with Asterion’s ESG strategy, the investment will also advance Fraikin’s decarbonisation roadmap and help customers move towards lower-carbon mobility by adopting lower-emission vehicles at a pace suited to local market conditions and operational needs.

Asterion’s investment comes as commercial vehicle fleets face evolving regulation, the adoption of lower-emission technologies and increasing complexity in vehicle financing and management. These trends are increasing demand for leasing and fleet management providers that can combine funding, maintenance expertise and operational support.

Fraikin’s integrated leasing, maintenance and fleet management offering positions it to meet these changing customer needs. Under Asterion’s ownership, the company will build on its established presence across Europe while adapting its services to new fleet technologies and market requirements.

“Fraikin provides essential infrastructure for commercial mobility across Europe. Its scale, integrated service model and longstanding customer relationships create a strong platform for growth. We see a significant opportunity to support the transition of its fleet toward lower-emission vehicles, in line with Asterion’s commitment to the energy transition, and we look forward to partnering with Fraikin’s management team.”
